Wine
and sekt tasting
Wine
or Sekt (sparkling wine or German “champagne”) tasting shouldn’t be
missed
off your programme. Our advice: stock up with a good supply of this juice
of the vine whilst you’re here as the quality is usually much better than
at home and what could be better than to buy your wine directly from the
vintner? The possibilities to go wine or Sekt tasting are countless as
the Moselle survives from wine making and tourism. You won’t find any industry
here.

From
April to the end of November there is a wine tasting held every Thursday
at
a different Cochem wine grower’s every week, including a tour of the wine
cellars and detailed explanations. As well as this it is also possible,
of course, to
go
wine tasting daily at Cochem’s various wine cellars as long as you book
in advance.
It
costs between apprx. 6,- and 10,- Euro per person depending on the wine
tasting
venue.
We
recommend:
-
Riesling-Stuben
Weinbau Inh. Rolf Haxel, Cochem
-
Werner
Gansen, Cochem-Sehl
-
Wine
museum and Weingut Schlagkamp, Senheim
-
Weingut

The
special wine tasting “ Gastronomy tasting” which is often held in Hotel
Panorama by the Manager himself. As opposed to the wine tastings at wine
cellars where the wine-grower naturally promotes above all his own wines,
this wine tasting offers you the interesting possibility to sample wines
from all the above mentioned wine grower’s as well as a whole selection
of wines from the best producers along the Moselle
and, of course, the excellent red wines from the Ahr valley.
From the bottled wines in our hotel to the “Trockenbeerenauslese”
(wines made from choice grapes left on the vine to dry out
at the end of the season) and “Eiswein” (sweet
wines made from grapes which have been exposed to frost) and the
famous “auctioned” wines, everything is possible. Depending on the
selection of wines offered it costs apprx. 15,- Euro per person including
bread and cheese for neutralising taste buds.

We
would be pleased to reserve and arrange a wine tasting for you at a wine
cellar
or to make you an individual offer for the popular “Gastronomy tasting”.
